After a period in figurative painting, specially devoted to urban landscape, my painting has been naturally oriented to an abtraction in which figurative referents of geometry and everyday life can be found.
This exhibition here has been divided into several galleries that compile works of similar conception and subject matter, made in the last three years.
The tecniques used are varied, classic and up-to-date, there are not restrictions in the use of any necessary technique in each moment of the work, but the adequacy of ways and manners with the purpose of making a picture durable in time.

 
 
...There is a proved quality in Jimenez’s work, an exquisite sensibility, a clear mastery of the technical resources, a world of brilliant dreams... ...Jimenez’s paintings seem to me this evening as a whole treaty on philosophy or a stroking book of poems... Such is the work of this singular oil poet called Miguel Angel Jiménez.

It predominates in his paintings a feeling of visual purity, of chromatic frame, a delicate and transparent lyricism, so that in the transcription, motifs are lost in the edges, and their ugliness, and they become amazing motifs of the manipulation of beauty... ...seen from the intimate and poetic interiors of things... ...what Jiménez achieves with his work is a peaceful, delicate and beautiful vision of a liveable world, whose hopes appear dignified by art.

...When talking about a painter, sometimes one cannot differenciate his personality from his own work, either because both are complementary or because one is the continuation of the other. This happens with Miguel Jiménez, maybe in this case because of his naturalness and lack of pose, because he paints but he does not act as “a painter”, he does not even affect trascendentalism, noticing that he displays the same depth and simplicity one can find in his painting...

…When you behold Miguel Jiménez’s “Zenón” pictures you notice that they do not only reflect the pictorial expression of a way of feeling or thinking, but a vital behaviour of the artist himself towards life.
